TBx Consulting’s expert was tasked with managing the EASA certification process for a new communications system that this engineering solutions provider for the aviation industry had developed. They were offering the world’s first turn-key GSM solution for mobile phones on board aircraft and they needed it to gain EASA approval and for the production plant certified PART 21 G. He successfully project managed this process driving the project to success three months after inception.

Interim & Change Management

The transition from engineering development to manufacturing production can prove to be one of the most difficult challenges for a high-technology start-up. TBx Consulting Ltd was called in to manage this transition and to develop a new procurement strategy for a UK based telecoms start-up. TBx Consulting developed short, medium and long term objectives, as well as using a hands-on approach to actively lead the newly created procurement department, undertaking drastic cost reduction initially focusing on the cost of BOM. TBx Consulting quickly realised a real cost saving of $4.5m for its client.

Global Outsourcing & Supply Chain

TBx Consulting Ltd was called in by a UK based telecoms company to restructure their Supply Chain. The company’s supply chain was not functioning correctly and relations between the manufacturer and the telecoms company had reached an impasse, making the company unprofitable. TBx Consulting’s expert developed both short and long term objectives, as well as using a hands-on approach to repair the relationship with the supplier and leading drastic cost reduction measures initially focusing on the cost of BOM. Within three months of services, TBx Consulting managed to save over 30% in real production costs.

Production

Our expert was given the task of reviewing the global supply chain organisations; processes; structures etc. and recommend areas of improvement. He then worked with the divisions to implement these changes with the specific task of turning the production group around from a loss making position.

He completely restructured the supply chain and operations team, outsourced many of the products, saving $1.9m, reduced inventory by 25% and implemented new policies, practices and procedures, resulting in the group turning its first profit in 3 years.

Managerial & Business Strategy

TBx Consulting’s expert directed the team that developed the strategy and strategic plan for transforming a large national bank’s funding operations form an internally-focussed organisation into a profit-centre that provided products and services to help clients manage financial risk and raise capital. The new capital markets unit enabled the bank to take advantage of its strong financial position, offer customers a much more complete product set, and positioned it to compete with large, national players.
